News production system upgrade including Grass Valley Stratus, Aveco playout, and iNews to Octopus migration.
Independent TV, a 24x7 news broadcaster, undertook a major upgrade of its news production system with Benchmark as the consultant. After multiple planning sessions, solutions based on Grass Valley’s Stratus for production and Aveco for playout were implemented.
Despite the challenges of the COVID lockdown, the Benchmark team ensured a seamless migration without disrupting on-air operations. A key part of the project was migrating news stories and rundowns from Avid iNews to the Octopus newsroom system, along with implementing a disk archive-based storage solution.
